What is CatchCities?
CatchCities is a free location-based game across 159 cities and 9,000+ real places. You walk to landmarks, hidden gems and viewpoints and catch them when you're physically there, building a streak as you go.
How do I catch a place?
Walk to the spot on the map and get within about 75 metres. When you're close enough, tap to catch it. You can attach a photo, and the catch is saved to your collection.
Do I need to create an account?
No. You can open the map and explore without signing up. To save catches across devices, sign in with a 6-digit email code or with Google — no password required.
Which cities and how many places are included?
159 cities and more than 9,000 curated places — museums, monuments, food spots, beaches and viewpoints. All free to explore.
Is my location tracked?
Your browser uses GPS only to check you're within ~75 m of a place so you can catch it. We store which places you caught — not a continuous trail of where you've been. No ads, no data sales. See the privacy policy.
What is La Lupa?
An in-app concierge that knows your city: where to eat, what to catch next, how to dodge the queues. Included free with limits; Pro makes it unlimited.
What are the audio guides?
Studio-quality narrated guides play at landmarks. With Pro you can generate your own in 10 voices and 9 languages.
What's in Pro and how much is it?
€9.99/month. Adds custom AI audio guides (10 voices, 9 languages), unlimited La Lupa concierge and unlimited trip optimization. The core game stays free. Full pricing here.
How do I install it as an app?
CatchCities installs straight from the browser as a PWA — full screen, home-screen icon and GPS, no app store needed. Use Add to Home Screen on iPhone (Safari share menu) or Install app on Android (Chrome menu).
How do I export or delete my data?
Open the Account & Privacy panel in the app. You can Download my data (JSON) or Delete my account & data at any time.
How do streaks work?
Catch at least one place on a day to keep your streak alive. Streaks feed your rank and unlock badges — but there's no punishment for missing a day. It's a nudge, not a leash.
